GOLD ATH...Gold prices are climbing higher again in March, hitting all time highs on almost a daily basis, with yesterday being the newest ATH of $3033. The stubborn inflation data keeps pushing interest rate cuts down the road for central banks, even though US Feds have promised at least 3 rate cuts this year. They could dial back rate cut expectations if the underlying inflation data suggests price pressures persist.

- As US stock and crypto currency markets are breaking records and risk appetite keeps getting hotter, we will see money flock to Bullion for the saftey of it.

CHINA DEFLATION BEANS... With China’s deflation at its worst in 15 years, a volatile stock market and interest rates too low for her liking, 18-year-old Tina Hong is placing her financial security in gold beans. Weighing as little as one gram, the beans — and other forms of gold jewelry — are increasingly viewed as the safest investment bet for young Chinese in an era of economic uncertainty. It’s part of a larger consumer trend for all things gold — from bullion to beans and bracelets, that has gripped the mainland.

-Three-quarters of China's gold consumers are now estimated to be between 25 and 35 years old and many believe investing in gold is low-risk.

SILVER HISTORY...Billions of years ago, passing meteorites embedded silver in the earth’s crust. Silver is typically found as a compound with gold or copper. As such, nearly half of the silver produced today is a secondary product when processing other kinds of ore. Silver has been cherished by civilizations across the globe since it was first mined in Turkey some 5,000 years ago. Because of its high value, silver has been used in jewellery, tableware and figurines, as well as objects for religious rituals. Textiles were embroidered with silver thread, and it was also widely used as an inlay material for weapons, armour, furniture and metal vessels.

-Due to silver’s superior reflective qualities, early movies were projected onto screens made of silver-coated fabric, improving the brightness and clarity of the image. To this day, the term “silver screen” remains synonymous with the movie industry and the glamour of Hollywood.

GOLD ANTIBIOTICS?...Researchers at the University of Pennsylvania, Stanford University have developed sugar-coated gold nanoparticles that they used to both image and destroy biofilms, the slimy scaffolding that bacteria can develop on our teeth or wounded skin if left unattended. Gold is non toxic and readily converts energy from light sources into heat, making it a prime candidate for photothermal therapy, a strategy that utilizes the heat from nanoparticles to kill nearby pathogens.

- This method could treat patients if they are allergic to antibiotics or are infected by strains that are resistant to medication. The fact that this method is antibiotic-free is a huge strength.
